Another Top 5.

Wall Speedway, NJ

Jeff and his crew opted for the early practice session at Wall Speedway considering the problems they had at Sundance Vacation Speedway on June 5th. It was a good call, the #95 had trouble making it 3 laps before getting the black flag for smoking. It appeared Kot had lost an engine in turn one when his car went up in a huge puff of smoke. Jeff released the wing hatch and was ready to bail out thinking there was an oil fire. The smoke died down shortly after stopping and the 95 went to the pits so his crew could figure out what had happened and what repairs were needed. After looking the car over it appeared to have suffered a valve cover gasket failure. The team would chase this problem all through practice and finally getting things fixed for the the feature event.

Kot would be starting in the sixth position. As the race got underway Kot got shuffled back on the start when two cars got together and looked like they may wreck. Jeff got off the throttle and waited for the worst. Both drivers held onto their cars and kept moving forward. The race was set to be 35 laps on the high banks of Wall Stadium, one of the faster tracks the division travels to. Jeff would work his way back up to 6th and kept the pressure on the 5th place car for a good portion of the event. With a lap or two remaining Jeff made his move and made the clean pass down the backstretch to take over 5th as the checkers fell on the event.

This is the 3rd straight top 5 for Team TYPHOON. Jeff credited his crew with the stong finish and their hard work this season keeping him up front. Also helping in the pits were the 1b and 13 teams. With out their parts and assistance the #95 would not have made the event. The next event is Friday July 9th in Chemung NY.
